Expanding Our Support: Inclusive Spaces for Older LGBTQ+ Adults
We’re committed to creating safe, inclusive, and welcoming spaces for older LGBTQ+ adults, where everyone can connect, share experiences, and find community. With a range of groups that cater to different identities and interests, our goal is to support and celebrate every part of our community.
Older & Wilder – A Group for Older Lesbians
The Older & Wilder group meets bi-weekly at our centre, with an average of 14 women attending each session. Meetings range in size, from smaller gatherings of 6-7 to larger groups of 12-16.
Some sessions focus on specific themes suggested by members, with occasional guest speakers. Beyond the centre, the group connects for regular social outings, including walks, meals, and a virtual book club over Zoom.

Older & Bolder – A Group for Older Gay Men
Older & Bolder is a safe space for gay, bi-sexual men and for men for have sex with men. This group also meets bi-weekly, with a supportive phone check-in on the alternate weeks. This group has enjoyed a variety of activities, including a memorable visit to Shibden Hall to explore the life of Anne Lister.

Older & Prouder – A Group for Older Trans Adults
This year, we launched Older & Prouder—a safe, affirming space created by and for the trans community. This group supports older trans adults, providing a welcoming environment to connect, share, and grow together.

Trailblaze 18-25 Peer Support Group
This is a 18-25’s group for LGBTQ+ adults, meeting in a safe and supportive space. This group runs every first Saturday of the month.

LGBTQ+ Peer Support Group – 25-40
Through these groups, we aim to foster strong, supportive communities where slightly older LGBTQ+ individuals can find friendship, connection, and a true sense of belonging. This group runs every first Sunday of the month.
