Equity Partnership has a small team of part time workers. We staff the office from Monday to Thursday, although we are often work evenings and weekends. Our office is just around the corner from the Equity Centre, on Grattan Road. Our team has a good knowledge of services in Bradford. If we can’t help you we will try to find someone who can.
Ann – Equity Partnership Manager
My background is in working with people, families and communities in a range of different settings. I spend most of my time now working with other agencies, planning the business of the partnership, writing funding bids and monitoring the work we do. Since I have worked at Equity Partnership I have met so many different people with diverse identities and outlook on life. Our communities defy definition, and this is what I most enjoy about my job.
Rachel – Community Development Manager
The community development manager can provide development and outreach support to Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Trans groups in the Bradford district. LGB&T groups need help and support to grow and expand; the community development manager can help and support your group in a variety of ways, for example, project planning, fundraising, policy development and publicity.
Equity believe in identifying gaps in services and developing groups and activities that benefit under-represented groups within the LGBT communities; if you or your group feel that you wold like support in developing a new group then contact the community development manager who can help.
We can can support mainstream agencies and organisations to explore ways they can make their agencies more accessible to LGBT communities. This can range from using positive images of LGBT communities to support with policy writing or staff training.
If you want further information or you’d like to discuss how we can help your group or organisation, email our community development worker.
Wendy – Project Health Support Worker
Hello my name is Wendy; in Sept 2016 I was offered the post of the Project Health Support Worker at Equity Partnership. My previous background was in the voluntary sector of Sexual Health, in which I was a support enabler to assist people and families living with HIV. Even though I loved this work and found it immensely rewarding, I wanted the opportunity to broaden my horizons and develop my community work within the LGBT community and this position came along at just the right moment.
My work here includes working closely with all the groups encouraging them to flourish and achieve their goals as well as giving them opportunities to try new things, meet new friends, discuss health issues and to feel part of a safer, ever growing, ever changing LGBT community.
Finn – Trans Project Coordinator
Hi I’m Finn and I co-ordinate the Trans project here at Equity Partnership. This is a brilliant and unique job, with everyday bringing something new. My time is often spent delivering training, supporting Trans people – especially Trans young people and doing work around hate crime.
Anne-Marie – Partnership Administrator
My name is Anne-Marie. I am the temporary partnership administrator, and have been in this role since February 2017. Prior to that I volunteered in the office one morning a week. I am responsible for keeping this website up to date, and managing other EP social media accounts such as those on Twitter and Facebook. I also deal with membership applications and various other admin bits and pieces.
Daphne – Finance Officer
My name is Daphne, and I have been the finance officer here at Equity since 2008. I work for 6 hours a week on a Thursday, and manage all the financial transactions of the partnership. Working with the treasurer, I send reports to the Board every quarter.
I am retired from my main job, working with homeless families, but enjoy coming in to work every week to be with colleagues and to find out about the various social activities Equity provides.
