February is LGB History Month and the the Equity Partnership will be marking it with several events, including presentation of the Equity Partnership Awards, which were launched in 2009, on 17 February (see below).

Monday 1st
LGBT History Month. Training day to make participants more aware of the history and development of LGBT History Month. At the Equity Centre, 10am - 4pm. For more information or to book a place email Jake or telephone him on 01274 727759/79.
Tuesday 2nd
LGB Disability Network. The next meeting is at the Love Apple, 34 Great Horton Road, Bradford, 7pm. Rachel will be there from 6.30. A £3 contribution to the cost of food is requested. For more information email Rachel or call her on 01274 727759/79.
Wednesday 3rd
Older & Wilder. Usual fortnightly meeting. LGBT History Month theme. At the Equity Centre, 1-3pm.
Friday 5th

Yoga at the Equity Partnership. The very popular LGB Yoga sessions are back; they started on Friday 8 January and run every Friday, 6 - 7.30pm, for 12 weeks. The sessions are in the training room at 82 Grattan Road (just round the corner from the Equity Centre). Wear loose, comfortable clothing and bring a large towel. For more details or to take part email Jake or telephone him on 01274 727759/79. A minimum donation of £3 (£1 unwaged) per session, or £32 (£15 unwaged) for all 12 sessions, is requested

Older & Bolder. Usual fortnightly meeting. Film, 'West Side Story', in the Equity Centre, 1-3pm.
Wednesday 10th
LGB Film Night. Kissing Jessica Stein. Subtitles for hearing impared. Equity Centre, 7.30pm. You must telephone Rachel, 01274 727759, or email her before 4.30pm on the day if you intend to come, otherwise the event may not take place.
Thursday 11th
Communities of Interest/Neighbourhood Forum. Organised as part of LGBT History Month. At the Midland Hotel, Bradford, 6.30 - 9.30pm. The theme of the year's COI event will be Safety of the LGB Communities, with presentations on the Hate Crime Panel, Equality & Diversity in W Yorks Fire & Rescue, Education Bradford on homophobic bullying in schools, tackling anti-social behaviour in Bradford, and Victim Support. Buffet, raffle and possibly some entertainment. Please email Rachel or telephone her on 01274 727759/79 for more information or to book a place. Wednesday 17th
Equity Partnership LGB Awards. 6.30 for 7pm. A glitzy 'bubbly' event in the French Ballroom at the Midland Hotel, Bradford, for the presentation of the Equity Partnership LGB Awards 2010, which were launched last year. One celebrity guest will be Yorkshire-born author Paul Burston - 'Shameless', 'Star People', 'Lovers & Losers' and, published this year, 'The Gay Divorcee'. This will be a ticket-only event though there will be no charge (donations will, of course, be gratefully accepted).
A buffet will be served from 6.30pm but we must receive your request for a ticket by 10am Wednesday 10 February if you wish to eat. It's not too early to reserve your ticket now; email Emily or call her on 01274 727759/79. This year there will be five awards, two more than last year, and one award is specifically for a regional organisation or group.

Keighley LGB Celebration Event. Organised as part of LGBT History Month. At the Temple Row Centre, Keighley, 6pm till late. You can view a location map. Launch of Lesbian Identity Project's first and second publications - booklets based on interviews with women about their lesbian identity. Organised as part of LGBT History Month. Sunday 21st
LGB Tree planting. Partnership activity between Equity Partnership, Bradford Environmental Trust (BEAT) and Keighley Voluntary Services as part of extending activities for LGB communities in the Keighley during LGBT History Month. In Cross Roads Park, near Haworth; meet at the main entrance to the park at the Haworth Road/Halifax Road junction, 10.30am. Planting for 1-2 hrs. Warm, waterproof outdoor clothing, wellies, etc, needed. Bring your own refreshments. Tools and plants provided. Email Rachel or telephone her on 01274 727759/79 for more information.
Thursday 25th
Weight Management Session. Resumption of weekly weight management sessions at the Equity Partnership, 6-7pm. They had to be suspended in January as the professional facilitator had to go into hospital. With a qualified weight management facilitator and includes looking at individual needs, physical activities and food and nutrition advice. Email Jake or telephone him on 01274 727759/79 to book a place or for more information. A donation is requested - £3 (£1 unwaged) a session or £20 (£7 unwaged) for all eight sessions.

CANCELLED. Sadly, one of the poets is serious ill, so following event is cancelled. Women only poetry evening with Joy Howard and Barbara Burford. At the Equity Centre, 7-9.30pm.
