Tuesday 'drop ins' suspended for 6 weeks
Because of building work in the Equity Centre, which is being fitted with a fully accessible toilet and kitchen, the regular Tuesday evening 'drop-ins' have been suspended for six weeks beginning 25 May.

Women only event at the Bradford Alhambra Studio.
Women's Pride, closing event of Bradford Pride 2009. From 8pm to 11pm, this is shaping up to be a fabulous evening: there'll be standup comedy from Isma Almas, music and song from Belinda O'Hooley and Secrets Out as well as

disco, the whole hosted by Mysti Valentine. There's be a free raffle drawn on the evening; the prize is a meal for two at Nelson's Wine Bar in Hebden Bridge.

June 6th
FLOCK cabaret show and club night at the Bradford Playhouse, part of the theatre's 'supporting Bradford Pride' programme. Line-up includes Mrs Barbara Nice (who The Stage described as "a cross between Victoria Wood and Janis Joplin"), Isma Almas, Mysti Valentine, DJs and dancing. Doors open at 8pm, live acts from 9pm. Pride supporters get a discount on the £7 ticket, paying £5.
June 7th
Classic, award-winning Marilyn Monroe movie 'Some Like it Hot' is being shown at the Bradford Playhouse on 7 June as part of the support of Bradford Pride 2009. Dress up in drag or 'Some like it hot' style and get a free drink at the bar. Film starts at 3.30pm; tickets are £3 and £5.
LGB Accessible Pride Walk
The Equity Partnership in partnership with Get out there (as part of Bradford Pride) have organized an accessible walk on the Cullingworth Route which is next to Cullingworth Primary School; The route is about 1500m long and is an out and return walk. Jess Bradley, from Bradford University is hosting an informal training session on recreational drugs and how the LGB communities are affected by this. It's on Wednesday 10 June, 6pm-8.30pm. It's free, but there's food so please email Jake to let him know if your coming.
Some info from Jess: LGB people are 25 times more likely to do crystal meths, 7 times more likely to do ketamine and 3 times more likely to do MDMA than their straight counterparts. Why is this? Jess is from Students for a Sensible Drug Policy and will attempt to explain why LGBT people are more likely to use drugs, what solutions their are, and exposes some myths around drug use within our community.

Bradford LGB Groups Forum will meet at the Equity Partnership offices (82 Grattan Road, Bradford BD1 2TP - round the corner from the Equity Centre) at 6pm on Thursday 18 June. Shirley MacCredie will be telling us how we can win a state of the art iPod by filling in a valuable LGB survey. June 26th
Disability issues in the workplace. Bradford University are inviting voluntary and community organisations which are currently reviewing their approach to disability issues to go on Friday 26th June from 9.30 to 16.30 and see how it is done at the Uni. The one day course is a mandatory part of the Recruitment and Selectiobn training at the university but is also open to anyone who want to learn about the Disability Discrimination Act and its implications. The course costs £40 for voluntary and community organisations, £80 for statutory organisations. LGB Disability Network. The third meeting of the Bradford LGB Disability Network will be at the Morley Street Resource Centre, 124 Morley Street, Bradford BD7 1BB at 12.30pm on Saturday 27 June. The organisers are keen to be inclusive and ensure that everyone can participate so please talk to Rachel about any special access needs on 01274 727759/79 or email her. Future meetings are scheduled for 5 September and 7 November (when the Royal National Institute for the Deaf will be presenting) .
