Mesmac’s West Yorkshire Queer Stories project will be visiting the Equity Centre on Tuesday 24th July 6-7.30 pm for anyone interested to give their stories and experiences to the project.
The West Yorkshire Queer Stories project aims to collect and preserve LGBTQ+ experiences and objects. For too long LGBTQ+ histories have been ignored or seen as unimportant; the West Yorkshire Queer Stories Project aims to change that. It’s important that a range of people from all over West Yorkshire are involved so that all our voices are heard. The project will record personal memories, as well as collecting objects like badges and photos. Everything we collect will add to our LGBTQ+ heritage and show the remarkable range of people and experiences within our communities.
Rachel & Ross are currently recruiting volunteers for the project and participants to tell their stories or donate things. If you’re interested in being involved, they’d love to hear from you!
