Equity Partnership LGB&T Awards 2011
A big thank you and congratulations to the winners and nominees!
Equity Partnership would like to thank everyone who took part in the nomination and voting process to decide this year’s award winners. Over 250 people took part in the voting and around 1,200 votes were cast, three times higher than last year!
We would also like to heartily congratulate everyone who was nominated for an award and thank our numerous sponsors.
The winners of each of the 6 awards were announced at the LGBT History Month event held at the Midland Hotel, Bradford on Saturday 26th February. An additional special award was given directly by the Equity Partnership for outstanding achievement.
The results were as follows:-
1) Equity Partnership Award – Most LGBT Friendly Organisation
WINNER – Humber Fire and Rescue
2) UNISON Bradford Health Branch Award – Best LGBT Champion
WINNER – Liz Parsons, Bradford District Care Trust
3) Incommunities Award – Best Individual LGBT Contribution
WINNER – Jonathan Cookson, Yorkshire MESMAC
4) Equity Partnership Award – Best LGBT Group
WINNER- GenderShift
5) The Midland Hotel Bradford Award – Most Inspiring LGBT Individual
WINNER - Dr Steve Hopker, Bradford District Care Trust
6) Bradford MDC Award – Most Inspiring LGBT Group
JOINT WINNERS – Sound Youth Group and Yorkshire MESMAC
Equity Partnership Regional Award for Outstanding Achievement
This is a special award given directly by Equity Partnership
