How to support somebody affected by dementia in your leisure club or group

Dementia needn’t stop enjoyment, involvement, or ability to contribute.

This event will give your organisation the opportunity to hear about and discuss ways of fully involving members affected by dementia, including carers. We will discuss:

  • What is dementia? An insight into how people with dementia may experience their world.
  • How can we help your organisation? We will provide key information about support organisations and services available to people affected by dementia from voluntary, social care and health services.
  • What can I do to help? We will discuss practical support you could offer, changes to the environment you migfht be able to make, and how your organisation can be supported in these ambitions.

The sessions will include short talks and discussion groups about ongoing support and information that can help you ensure that you are dementia friendly. Learn about the resources you may need to help become more inclusive.

There are two sessions, each lasting two hours, on 22nd May, starting at 15.00 and then again at 18.30. Please us the Eventbrite link to select which session you would like to attend.
