LGB Health Needs Assessment
In 2007 The Equity Partnership (Bradford LGB Strategic Partnership) carried out the first ever health questionnaire in Bradford.
The Assessment was a real success and in 2009 this research was repeated.
A lot has happened as a result of the 2007 questionnaire:
• LGB people have access to a range of health related activities: exercise, healthy eating etc.
• Produced a cookery book
• 3 NHS LGB staff networks have started. Some members of these now access the services of the Equity Partnership
• The Equity Partnership gained further funding in order to provide certain services and has been able to employ an additional 2 members of staff
• 140 NHS staff that carry out screening for cervical cancer will be trained in LGB Equalities this summer.
The Equity Partnership needed to build on this work and gain further evidence of the health needs of LGB people in the Bradford District. In 2009, thanks to the help of LGB communities in Bradford and District, the survey was repeated and almost double the original number of participants got involved.
On Friday 9th July 2010 the results of the 2009 Health Needs Assessment were officially launched at an event for health care providers in Bradford. If you’d like to see the report please click on the link below:-
