Our community development worker provides development and outreach support to LGB individuals and communities in the Bradford district.
Supporting existing LGB groups and networks
An audit of local LGB groups in 2007 showed that many need help and support to grow and expand. Our community development worker can help with project planning, fundraising, policy development and publicity and information.
Supporting new groups to start up
Whether you want to start a small support group or set up a new service with paid staff, our community development worker can help you get it started. Support can include project planning, fundraising, resources, room space, recruitment of volunteers and training skills analysis.
Developing the Equity Centre
We want LGB communities to give us their ideas for making the Equity Centre more accessible and developing the Centre to meet the needs of different people. Our community development worker meets with LGB groups to discuss their ideas and follow them up.
Support to mainstream agencies
Our community development worker can support mainstream agencies to explore ways they can make their agencies more accessible to LGB communities. This can range from using positive images of LGB communities to support with policy writing or staff training.
